General Backgroud:

Anne has been a professional artist for over 28 years, and has an extensive background as a graphic designer, poster designer, and painter. She has designed and produced over 100 limited edition serigraphs, mylar lithographs, and posters. She created and sold over 50,000 limited edition prints and posters internationally and was appointed the graphic designer for the City of Alexandria Virginia to design interior graphics, signage, and logo for their Bicentennial Art Center.

In the mid seventies in Alexandria, Virginia she was one of the founding artists of The Torpedo Factory Art Center where she had a printmaking studio/gallery for ten years. She created hundreds of limited edition silkscreen prints, posters, and greeting cards. Her work featured bright color, bold design and occasionally "pop" subjects such as cameras and typewriters.

In 1984 she moved to California's Central Coast and opened a studio gallery in Cambria where she continued to create limited editions, monotypes, and handmade paper. She exhibited her work in New York each year at the International Art Expo there, as well as in galleries in Philadelphia and Washington D.C. In 1990 she began to study oil painting and by the mid nineties was hooked on "plein air painting" which she continues today.

She is active in several arts organizations. In California she is a member of the San Luis Obispo Art Center and SLOPE (San Luis Outdoor Painters Enterprise). She is also a member of the Tucson Plein Air Painters and shows with the Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters.

Nationally she is a member of Alla Prima International a group of 38 professional painters from across the US with whom she paints and travels ... they also exhibit together several times a year. They have traveled to Italy, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Wyoming and California in the past few years, sharing ideas and inspiration. She credits the association with these fine painters for much of her artistic growth.

She has studied with Skip Whitcomb and Kim English of Colorado, with Ann Templeton of New Mexico, and with Ray Roberts and Ken Auster of California. If you would like to contact her please call her cell phone: 805-441-4422.
